Jontia Pegues recalls being overwhelmed with pride as she watched Sen. Barack Obama’s televised acceptance speech of the Democratic nomination for president of the United States. It was on the 44th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream Speech” which made the night particularly emotional for the 21-year-old Chicago native.
