Emphasis on literacy (The Courier News) |
Shuttered for three years, Woodland Heights Early Learning Center in Streamwood opens today to focus on children who are struggling with literacy. About 450 Woodland Heights pupils were identified as neediing the most attention during voluntary screenings, according to the district. About half the pupils are non-native English speakers.
