Richard K. Miles, survived attack on Pearl Harbor, became contractor (The Plain Dealer)

Elyria — Richard K. Miles, who died Aug. 18 at age 89, tore a swath of fabric from the wing of a Japanese fighter plane that crashed near Schofield Barracks near Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Dec. 7, 1941.
