Help identify these mystery wildflowers! |

The stems of this plant, which turn from green to red to tan when dried, are hollow–the seeds are in the tiny flowers. The flowers were too dry to guess what their color was.
Does anyone know what this (presumably) California native is? It grows in the foothills of the Eastern Sierra near Independence.
