Placospermum coriaceum sapling

Said to be the most primitive member of Proteaceae in Australia. Like the majority of the large-leafed rainforest Proteaceae, the leaves become simple as it gets older. Some plants have simple leaves even at the size of this one. Beside the unpaved section of Black Mountain Road north of Kuranda, north Queensland.
