"Request permission to come ashore."

Paddle to Lummi Canoe Journey. Some of the 60 some canoes representing as many tribes journeyed for a week to get to this point at Fidalgo Bay. The next day the canoes went on to Lummi to meet other canoes coming down from British Columbia. Festivities at Lummi, hosted by the Lummi Nation, lasted the good part of a week. This overnight stop at Fidalgo was hosted by the Samish Nation.
